Description
Adhesive tapes are used for fixing the heating tapes. Aluminum tapes are glued longitudinally over the heating tape to prevent insulation material caught between heating tape and the heated object. At the same time they increase the heat transfer.Glass fibre tapes are wrapped around the pipe to fix the heating tape . This shall be done at a distance of about 20cm-30cm. Additionally the aluminium tape can be used as decribed above. The type of adhesive tape
depends on the operating temperature.All tapes shall be free of plasticizers. Plasticizer (usually available in 'cheap or installation-' tapes) destroy the functionality of the heating tapes.
